“Loved it”
I stayed in the hotel for 23 days so got to know the cadences really well. The front desk - Emanuella, Valentina were really friendly (opened the basement door for me to walk in with heavy luggage straight to the elevator), the breakfast is sumptuous and is extremely well served by the Romanian waitress whose name I forget. Very nice rooms, the air-con is great, the views are great and the hotel is very quiet and nice place to work - I was attending a school at the ICTP so needed a quiet place mostly and this fit the bill. Highly recommend !

Some of the dishes on the Trieste menu

Here are some of the dishes of traditional Trieste cuisine that one can taste at the Le Vele Restaurant:

• Antipasto di sardoni (Large sardine starter)
• Soup with beans and sauerkraut
• Pasta alla busera (from the ancient Istrian cuisine served with scampi or prawns, according to what can be found at the market in that season)
• Calandraca (similar to a Trieste-style goulash)
• Strudel

Breakfast, what a wonderful way to wake up!

In your seaside hotel in Trieste, the moment you wake up is already made unforgettable by the view that you can enjoy while you still have your head on your pillow, and yet, if possible, it can get even better once you arrive in the breakfast room.

In fact, the room has large windows overlooking the sea and especially an extremely generous buffet both in terms of quality and variety of choice:

  • A selection of croissants, cakes and pastries
  • Several types of jam, yogurt and cereals
  • Fresh and dried fruit as well as fruit in syrup
  • Special products for celiacs
  • Pâté, a selection of cold meats, fresh and aged cheeses and
  • Potato croquettes, tomatoes and peppers
  • A wide range of teas
  • American and espresso coffee
  • Chocolate
  • Fruit juice
The Le Vele Restaurant is closed at lunchtime, except for bookings (groups of a minimum of 8 guests). On the other hand, the Green Bar on the seafront remains open where you can enjoy fresh light lunches.
